Dr. Cueva is an Infectious Disease physician located in Ogden, Utah. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences from the University of Utah. He later graduated from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, completed an internal medicine internship and residency at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center, and finished his Infectious Diseases Fellowship at the University of Utah School of Medicine.

Dr. Cueva decided to study this specialty because all humans have developed alongside microorganisms and our bodies have adapted to live with most of them. However, there are times when these microbes overpower our immune system's natural defenses. Dr. Cueva enjoys performing detective work alongside the patient, their loved ones, and the healthcare time to determine which organism is causing the disease and what treatment is most appropriate for each individual patient.

When Dr. Cueva isn't caring for others, he enjoys camping, biking, hiking, attending family BBQs, playing with this dog, and searching for rocks in the west desert with his fiancée.

Dr. Cueva believes everyone deserves to be treated with compassion, empathy, and to have their concerns heard and validates regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, age, or sexual orientation. Compassionate care and good listening are essential parts of medicine and he believes they are required for healing. He takes a holistic approach to medicine. He doesn't see his patients as just a lung or knee infection, but instead as a whole human being. An infection can cause medical problems, but it does not exist in a vacuum. Preexisting conditions and home conditions can influence healing. Dr. Cueva takes a well rounded approach to medicine when he treats his patients
