Chi-Gang Yen is a board certified and fellowship trained interventional cardiologist practicing in Salt Lake City. Dr. Yen completed his undergraduate degree at Harvard before graduating from the University of Michigan Medical School. He later completed fellowships at the University of Vermont and the University of Utah, where he also completed a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation.
Dr. Yen emigrated from Taiwan to the United States when he was five years old and grew-up in Southern California. He was inspired to study medicine as a young child after his father was hospitalized. That experience gave Dr. Yen a great appreciation for how impactful practicing medicine can be on a patient and the meaningful impact it can have on their loved ones. He specializes in procedures such as coronary angiogram and stenting narrowed coronary arteries.
Dr. Yen is dedicated to providing excellent care to every single patient, prioritizing the use of shared decision making. This means that he partners with patients to try and make the best decisions on medical testing and treatments based on their specific circumstances, needs and preferences. He really appreciates the ability to use different modern technologies and procedures to improve or extend his patient's life in exciting ways.
Outside of patient care, Dr. Yen loves spending quality time with his wife and child. He also enjoys following professional basketball and eating tasty desserts.
